Environmental Sustainability team is responsible for shaping
Comcast's overall environmental sustainability strategy and working
with businesses and teams across the enterprise to develop, align,
operationalize, and execute on that strategy. An important part of
the environmental strategy includes the measurement and reporting
of environmental data, including greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions.
The Sustainability Data Senior Manager will provide thought
leadership in data and business analytics in support of Comcast's
environmental data reporting. Working closely with colleagues
across corporate and business unit teams, she or he will review and
validate methodologies and measurement approaches, data collection,
consolidation, and reporting, as well as perform ad-hoc analysis to
evaluate new options and inform decision-making. She or he will
bring or develop subject matter expertise around sustainability
measurement standards and support an enterprise-wide program to
deliver a consistent measurement approach to environmental
sustainability data and metrics.
The Sustainability Data Senior Manager will work extensively with
groups across the corporate functions and the business units of
Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal, and Sky, as well as external
consultants. The role requires strong skills in data analysis, data
engineering, automation, and data visualization, competency in
programming languages such as SQL and Python, as well as robust
business acumen and excellent communication and collaboration
skills.Job DescriptionCore ResponsibilitiesData Governance:
- Understands and applies the corporate standard for
environmental sustainability data and methodologies in own work and
with other groups.
- Supports review and assessment of new methodologies, claims and
frameworks as they are needed, e.g., when they arise from within
the business or through evolution of the field.
- Supports communications to business and division teams about
the corporate requirements for environmental data consolidation and
reporting.
- Supports peer review of data analysis, audits, GitHub pull
requests, whitepapers, consolidation, dashboards, etc.
- Supports documentation, change management and the
implementation of controls comprehensively across all aspects of
work.Measurement & Analysis:
- Works with business and division teams to review source data
and code to ensure completeness and accuracy of results and that
the corporate standard for sustainability data and methodologies
has been applied.
- Develops ad-hoc analyses and dashboards to identify data
variances and outliers, and works with business teams to understand
drivers of variances and validate handling outliers.
- Manages data collection, quality checks, and calculations for
Corporate entities.
- Consolidates emissions data from various business units into
enterprise-level data for analysis and reporting.
- Performs analyses on year-over-year variances, change impacts,
and other investigations to support the interpretation of emissions
data and business drivers.
- Uses data concepts, tools, and programming techniques including
SQL & Python programming, Tableau, Data Bricks, MySQL and/or
comparable platforms to perform extract, transform, load (ETL) and
data analysis activities.Tools & Infrastructure:
- Supports the evaluation and implementation of tools and
databases related to environmental sustainability data with the
corporate center and business units.
- Determines when and how to use quantitative research tools and
models and assists in interpretation and development of
implications to address environmental data problems.General:
- Supports high-impact cross-team projects as needed to meet the
changing business environment and ensure the team is achieving
commitments.
- Collaborates with stakeholders across many levels and divisions
of the enterprise as well as external consultants and
contractors.
- Develops and communicates goals, strategies, tactics, project
plans, timelines and key performance metrics to reach goals.
- Presents analyses, findings and processes to stakeholders
clearly and effectively.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in
matters of significance.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise data analysis and business
analysis
- 3+ years of program management experience, including governance
and change management expertise
- Proficient in SQL & Python programming, Tableau, Data Bricks,
MySQL and/or comparable platforms and tools
- Sustainability accounting experience, including GHG Protocol
standards preferred
- Experience with assurance activities including internal and/or
operational audit preferredOther Requirements:
